Houghton passed to the Cholmondeley family through marriage, and the 5th Marquess and his wife Sybil began renovating the house in the 1920's. This process continues with their grandson David 7th Marquess who commissioned this model.
The Limited edition involves fine lead work balustrading and statuary work as well as detailed plaster relief present on the façade. This fine plaster work is also present on the Split edition which also features the beautiful staircase.

The great University City of Oxford is a beautiful European city. Its many colleges form a skyline of domes, towers and spires. At its centre is the octagonal library known as The Radcliffe or Oxford Camera. Although started by the architect Hawksmoor (who worked with Vanbrugh on many projects such as the Temple of Four Winds) it was primarily designed by Gibbs.
The model carries the copperplate description on its base "The Upright of the Radcliffe Library Building by James Gibbs 1757 as it is seen on all sides." Copies of the original plans were used to make this model.The model may be used as either a model or a bookend.

This set of bookends feature a detail from Queens Cross Church, Glasgow. Red stained glass has been placed behind the two windows allowing light to shine from behind. These bookends have a very clean, simple line. They illustrate Charles Rennie Mackintosh's talent for space and detailing.
The commission was initiated by The Charles Rennie Mackintosh Society who own and run this building. See also the Glasgow School of Art models in this catalogue.

Throughout Mozart's creative years he composed and performed prolifically. The National Theatre of Prague (Tyl or Estate Theatre) was one venue in which he chose to present many of his first performances. These include Figaro 1786, Don Giovanni 1789 and Clemenza di Tito, 1791. The theatre had special significance to Mozart as his audiences were loyal and appreciative over many years. This Palladian winged theatre of balanced design has both grace and style.

The Palm House was designed by the architect Decimus Burton and built by the engineer, Richard Turner, and bears an evocative resemblance to the now destroyed Crystal Palace of the 1851 Great Exhibition.
The actual building itself is a huge, beautiful construction made of glass and iron, and was designed to house tropical trees, shrubs and palms.
The model is in two halves, made of plaster with additional brass detail. The two pieces can be pushed together to form one large model, or used as the ideal place to keep all those gardening books from wilting!

The records reveal that the Royal & Ancient Golf Club of St. Andrews was established in 1754 by the Gentlemen of the Kingdom of Fife "being admired of the Ancient and healthy exercise of Golf".
The intricate wrought iron scroll work of the balcony is finely detailed in brass and plaster on this unusual model. The windows of the Limited version, of just 100, are pierced through enhancing the depth and impact of the piece. The model features not only the Clubhouse but the bank and setting of this historic building.

This palatial building was built upon the Thames. It was designed as the pay office and for what was then the largest Navy in the world. The model shows one part of the building, its arched centre being the main entrance to the office and courtyard.
This is a prime London landmark at the top of The Strand and was built by the influential architect Sir William Chambers. It has recently become home to one of the greatest silver collections in the world - The Gilbert Collection from America.

A well-proportioned brick built late English Renaissance house similar to many built in this period. The style was readily exported to the new colonies of America. Many houses in Virginia and on the east coast emulate this design. The classic pilasters separate three bays giving the building authority and elegance. It shows the influence of the baroque architect Sir Christopher Wren who built St Paul's Cathedral and also designed many of the churches in London. Vancouver Heritage Foundation are dedicated to the preservation and conservation of their city. They commissioned this model and subsequently invited Tim to Vancouver.
Gold plated doors and lead work help capture the detail and texture of this powerful Deco building. The Limited edition model also features stained glass and the figure of George Vancouver in front of the façade.
Built by Townley and Matheson as a symbol of Vancouver's growth, City Hall is a prime example of Moderne design. It's geometric silhouette, stylised bands of ornamentation, elegant light fixtures and ornate lobby are characteristic of this style. The building is sited in what was Stratcome Park. This central location was selected following the amalgamation of Point Grey, Vancouver and South Vancouver in 1929.

The Twin Towers of Wembley, a revered and internationally recognised landmark, have dominated the Wembley skyline for more than 75 years. This "venue of legends" has become synonymous with football worldwide. Home of FA cup finals from 1923 and venue for England's triumph in the 1966 world cup final, the stadium was the stage upon which all the games leading players played over a 77-year period.
