The Palm House was designed by the architect Decimus Burton and built by the engineer, Richard Turner, and bears an evocative resemblance to the now destroyed Crystal Palace of the 1851 Great Exhibition.

The actual building itself is a huge, beautiful construction made of glass and iron, and was designed to house tropical trees, shrubs and palms.

The model is in two halves, made of plaster with additional brass detail. The two pieces can be pushed together to form one large model, or used as the ideal place to keep all those gardening books from wilting!

Weight: 5kg - Dimensions: 14"w x 8"h x 5"d
